About

I am a landscape artist currently living in Calgary, AB, after residing most of my life in London, Ontario. I paint in acrylic and incorporate texture and movement into my work, reflecting the variations of our land. While my work is somewhat representational, it can maintain an element of abstraction in order to invite the viewer into a piece to explore and relate it to their own experiences.

My most recent body of work is heavily influenced by the landscape of South Western Ontario. I have always loved the beauty of the Canadian landscape, and I find peace and comfort in painting images of the land that has given me many years of picturesque beauty. With my recent move to Alberta, I find myself exploring the grandness of the Prairies and their contrast to the Rocky Mountains.

After obtaining my Bachelor of Arts, Honours Visual Arts, from Western University in London, I continued to grow as an artist personally and worked many years as an art teacher in both private and school settings. As a recently retired teacher, I now paint full time out of the studios at 500 Collective in Calgary, and am an aspiring ceramics artist who loves to produce functional pottery pieces.
